Pregnancy could be playing a role.
Hormonal changes during pregnancy can make your gums more sensitive to plaque, leading to redness, swelling, tenderness and bleeding while brushing or flossing—often referred to as pregnancy gingivitis.
But bleeding gums shouldn’t mean you stop brushing. Maintain good oral hygiene with gentle brushing using a soft-bristled toothbrush, floss regularly, and keep up with your dental check-ups. 🤍
If the bleeding is frequent or heavy, or you notice significant swelling, persistent pain, pus, loose teeth or other concerning changes, speak to your dentist and let them know you’re pregnant.
Your oral health is an important part of taking care of yourself during pregnancy too. ✨

A blocked nose, heartburn, painful leg cramps, constipation, bloating or feeling dizzy when you stand up can all occur during pregnancy.
While many of these discomforts are common, you don’t always have to simply put up with them. Small everyday changes—staying well hydrated, eating lighter meals, adding fibre gradually, staying gently active and changing positions slowly—may help you feel more comfortable.
And remember, common doesn’t mean every symptom should be ignored. If something feels severe, sudden, persistent or simply worries you, discuss it with your doctor.

![During pregnancy, noticing a little discharge or leakage from your nipples can catch you by surprise—but in many cases, it can be completely normal. 🤍
Your breasts start preparing for breastfeeding even before your baby arrives. The discharge may be clear, whitish or yellowish and can be colostrum—the nutrient-rich first milk your body produces for your baby. Some women notice it during pregnancy, while others don’t notice any leakage at all. Both can be normal and neither predicts how well you’ll breastfeed.
Avoid repeatedly squeezing the nipples just to check for discharge.
However, speak to your doctor if the discharge is bloody, foul-smelling, pus-like, only from one breast, or is accompanied by a new lump, significant pain, redness, warmth or fever.

It’s a concern I hear from many new mothers—but persistent backache after delivery isn’t automatically caused by the epidural.
Temporary soreness around the injection site can happen. But postpartum back pain can also be related to the physical changes of pregnancy and delivery, weakened core muscles, lifting and carrying your baby, feeding posture, lack of rest, and the everyday demands of caring for a newborn.
So before blaming the epidural, it’s important to understand what’s actually causing your pain.
If your back pain is severe, persistent, worsening, or accompanied by weakness, numbness, fever, or bladder/bowel problems, speak to your doctor promptly.

Dr Ekawali Gupta is honestly the best gynaecologist we found in Mohali for pregnancy and normal delivery. Ours was a high risk pregnancy because baby growth was low in the last month and BP was fluctuating. We were very scared and visiting emergency almost every week. She never panicked us.
Calmly explained every report, monitored Doppler again and again and guided us till safe normal delivery. Labour room management was outstanding.
